How will I be assessed?
The Poultry Health Course is a 20-credit module accredited by the University of Nottingham which can either be taken as a 2-week residential course or online. Students on both study paths can opt to sit the same examination in June/July each year at the University of Nottingham’s Sutton Bonington Campus, UK.
The examination date for participants on the 2016-17 online course, and the 2017 residential course, will be 26th June 2017.
For those who take the 2017-18 online course, and the 2018 residential course, the exam date will be summer 2018 (TBC).
The Examination is computer-based and comprises 90 multiple choice questions which must be completed within 90 min. Students who are not resident in the UK can request to sit the examination (on paper) overseas in August at any number of British Council offices. For further information, please follow this link:
The cost of the April 2017 residential course was £1700, or £2200 if taken with the accredited examination. The cost of the 2018 residential course is TBC.
The cost of the 2017-18 online course is £800, or £900 if taken with the accredited examination.
You can choose on the application form whether or not you would like to take the examination.
English Language Requirements for International Applicants
The University is keen to ensure all of its students are prepared to succeed in their programmes of study. Applicants whose first language is not English must achieve an appropriate level in an approved test in English before they can register. English language requirements are:
- IELTS – 6.5 with no less than 6.0 in each element
- Paper-based TOEFL – 573 with a TWE (test of written English) of 4.5
- Computer based TOEFL – 230 with no less than 4.5 in essay writing
